Preparation of 2-[4-(5,7-Dimethoxy-4-oxo-3,4-dihydro-quinazolin-2-yl)-2,6-dimethyl-phenoxy]-N-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-acetamide [0257] To a solution of 4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethyl-benzaldehyde (9.00 g, 60.0 mmol) in ethanol (300 mL) were added potassium carbonate (24.9 g, 180 mmol) and methyl bromoacetate (11.4 mL, 120 mmol).
